Lately...

2015. I can hardly believe it.

I have been busy making these first days of the year and it has been a pleasant way to bring in the new year.  These leather necklaces are inspired by bolos and native breastplate necklaces.  I like the warmth of the black deer skin with beautiful brass accents and chunky natural stone. I've been blessed with a few sweet custom dreamcatchers and I have enjoyed working with those materials again.  I am looking forward to much more creatin' in the year ahead.

Delight. Resilience. Risk. Great words to hold close to my heart when looking forward.

Sweet Dreams Bella

I am quite pleased with how this lovely gift turned out.  One of my oldest, dearest friends asked me to make a dreamcatcher for her to give as a Christmas gift. It is for her tween niece who sometimes has bad dreams. This beauty will help to make little Bella's dreams a whole lot sweeter and is the perfect adornment for her 'big girl' room.

This lovely large dreamcatcher reminds of Americana folklore with its red fabric with tiny blue and white florals throughout. One of the only 18" dreamcatchers left. Available here with free shipping.

sacred circles

A representation of wholeness.  My own interpretation.

This collection (along with a few more to be made) are made using the metal ring from old crab nets. A great reflection of our bayou culture and those fond memories I have of waking before sunrise and heading out with my Pops to go crabbin'.

It feels real good to finally get around to creating something I've been inspired to do for some time.

Made mostly with recycled, found and vintage treasures.

Dreamcatchers. Sacred Circles. Mandalas.

inspiring dreams

As I mentioned in my last post I have been dreaming of making dreamcatchers with antique doilies, my favorite fabric scraps and some of the most special found feathers. I have a growing collection of circles of all sorts and sizes to show for it. Well, after seeing my Aunts lovely creations and taking one home I was inspired to complete one I started many moons ago, as well as adorn the very special one she gave me and make it my own.  This is one of those moments when you finally get something done you have been wanting to do for a while but never get around to... AND IT FEELS SO GOOD.

And to top it off no.1 of my dreamcatcher collection has already sold.

note // I don't know if my new lovely home accessory is going to make it to the spot I had originally imagined, it just looks so nice with the light, center stage in the main room.
