In the works...

There is so much change in the air and our destiny is unfolding before our eyes. Needless to say we have been quite busy around here.

With that said, I would like to make the time to update my etsy shop this week. Here is a sneak peek.

Upcycled vintage secretary dresses from the 80's and waist belts.

Monogrammed canvas tote bags using vintage and recycled fabrics.

Comfy baby pants made from worn in recycled t-shirts.

I hope all is well where ever you may be and I hope your dreams are coming true too!

L'Immersion c'est bon!

Poppy and brother waiving goodbye

The first day of school. Wow what a memorable moment, the day your first baby goes to kindergarten or big girl school as we call it. I have had my doubts and hesitations about it all. The structure and rigid schedule (5 days a week, 7:55 till 2:55 with only 10 absences allowed for the whole year and 3 tardies gets a conference YIKES) intimidates me a little while the concerns of influence cross my mind. But, my big girl is a social butterfly whom, I strongly believe, will thrive in such a setting. Also, what excites us most is that she is in French immersion. What a beautiful opportunity for little ones. My husband has already been speaking French to her and the baby for quite sometime and he is looking forward to more and more of it in our home. This should give me a chance to actively embrace the language and dust off my learning from many years back. A bit of school for me too. Bonjour!

A tiny market...and I mean tiny!

Coming soon...Bayou Bohemian will include a tiny market place where everything is vintage, recycled or handmade. Maybe even all three combined. Focusing on salvaged, repurposed and reclaimed odds and ends for your home, garden and body. Always embracing nature. Where one might find recycled copper jewelry or fun feather accessories as well as therapeutic-grade essential oils and essential waters made from our local bald Cypress trees. Also reclaimed wood furniture pieces and rusted iron found objects, for example.

Open when its open or by appointment! A funky, down-to-earth, out-of-the-box box of tin, reclaimed wood and windows. A bit random, a lot unconventional and always evolving.

I love these pictures. Reflections of wonder and delight in a world that is overflowing with harsh realities of war and pollution. I admire them with dreamy thoughts, a light heart, and a gentle smile. Imagining a playful afternoon fit for a fairytale!

Primitive lovelyness

via thehermitage

Natural, wild, organic architecture...my absolute favorite! This place is wonderful I only wish I could see more of this home of the trees. When discussing building our own home I always express my interest in using raw un-milled trees. Maybe not with such whimsy but definitely for structural support.

I am left intrigued by what exactly is going on here. Are those mud walls in the back? Is it actually built in a tree or just using trees in their natural state? It is quite lovely and simply amazing, regardless!
