She tells in an interview here of how she leaves beach finds in her bathtub and she never tires of combing through them. I LOVE this, though not very practical with a soon to be one year old.

What a wonderful store. From the layout of her web page to the design of her apartment I am thrilled by Sibella Court's eye for decor. She has a very casual and rustic way yet inviting and intriguing. She has designed many fine layouts for many fine publications as you can see here (you must have a click around to experience a bit for yourself). Her store located in Sydney, Australia is said to peek your interest and inspiration. It changes completely four times a year based all around a specific theme of colors and stylings. They change everything even the front door changes. She also has a book that I will (hopefully) own someday soon Ecetera, etc. I would love love love to visit and one day experience this wonder for myself. Plus, a visit to Australia in general wouldn't be so bad.

Beauty and function out of trash

These bags I happened upon here in an evening of endless searching, full of inspiration. I am fond of and very excited by finding a great treasure that someone has discarded to be trash, especially one with history. I am intrigued by seeing great things come of these salvages. What Leslie Oschmann of Swarm has done with these salvaged vintage paintings is fabulous. What a wonderful idea that turned out beautiful and quite strong and durable too I'm sure.

For my mommy...

My mom just loves tiny buildings. She has had a many built, called one home and dreams of building more. One is in the design process right now, a tiny sanctuary on the Bayou Teche for her to spend her free time in silence among nature. It is her folly as she says. Her passion. So this post is for her to add to the burning inspiration she has for building and dreaming tiny. An unconventional idea of space made functional and even comfortable. Also, this post adds inspiration to our very own tiny market, Bayou Bohemian, that will be ready for business very soon. These tiny functional spaces often make me feel that anything is possible.

Poor man's linen

I love burlap. My hubby just salvaged like 60 or more coffee bean sacks that are in excellent condition. We have a growing list of ideas of what we can create using them. Cushioned and tufted headboard, dog bed, bar stool seat, wall covering, curtains(I wonder if they offer privacy at night with the lights on???). Personally, I like the part of the sack with words best. Who knows what their new life will be...we will have to wait and see.

Excited with inspiration

I am so inspired and excited with ideas for our new home, specifically the kitchen today, that I feel like I just might explode. Well, maybe its the coffee too but I have only finished half my cup because I am busy searching pics for ideas. I am (always) drawn to primitive, olde world, country farmhouse styles. Yesterday I painted our cabinets antique white and sanded for that primitive appeal...I likey likey! Below I share some pictures that inspire me today! Getting ready for change.

We have been spending most of our time lately preparing our new home to move in. We are quite excited about the change and are looking forward to the extra space. Last week we painted the bedrooms and ripped up the vinyl tile from the kitchen floor. This week we will be working in the living room sanding the floors and putting sheet rock and plaster on two of the knotty wood paneled walls. We will also be working on the kitchen floor and cabinets. Next will be the bathroom. Lots to do but mostly we are enjoying it. It is very nice that it is so close to where we live already.

In the works...

There is so much change in the air and our destiny is unfolding before our eyes. Needless to say we have been quite busy around here.

With that said, I would like to make the time to update my etsy shop this week. Here is a sneak peek.
